SUMMARY: The Blend Technician II is responsible for performing intermediate to advanced blending operations on aerospace components to meet quality standards and customer specifications. This position involves working with precision equipment and tools to ensure smooth surfaces, removal of defects, and restoration of parts to their original specifications.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Perform blending, smoothing, and contouring of aerospace components using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment.
- Review blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to determine blending requirements and ensure compliance with customer specifications.
- Identify and correct defects such as dents, scratches, or gouges on surfaces.
- Use precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers) to verify tolerances and ensure proper part dimensions.
- Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of completed work to ensure quality standards are met.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, parts used, and inspections conducted.
- Perform minor assembly and disassembly of engine components according to standard practice manuals and maintenance instructions.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- High school or equivalent.
- 2 years of experience in blending operations or similar work in an aerospace industry.
- Proficiency in the use of hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical instructions.
- Knowledge of aerospace materials and component specifications.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
- 3 years of previous blending experience in an aerospace MRO environment.
