VSC Fire and Security in Mobile, Alabama is seeking candidates for the position of Sales Manager.

What You Need

  • Proven track record of sales success, preferably within the construction, life safety, or related industries.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and manage a multi-line sales team (construction and service/inspection).
  • Exceptional negotiation, closing, and relationship-building skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to analyze data, forecast trends, and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Deep understanding of construction industry dynamics, technologies, and market conditions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation abilities.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail.
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities.
  • Must pass background checks and hold a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

What You Will Do

  • Partner with the Division Manager to define, implement, and refine sales strategies to meet and exceed company revenue and margin goals.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the sales team—covering both construction and service/inspection—to maximize performance and ensure accountability.
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with key customers, including builders, developers, contractors, and other decision-makers, ensuring high customer satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Actively identify and pursue new business opportunities, including prospecting, networking, and responding to RFPs.
  • Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics using tools such as Smartsheet, ensuring adherence to company policies and strategic objectives.
  • Negotiate contracts to secure favorable terms, leveraging tools like Document Crunch where applicable.
  • Stay informed on market conditions, competitor activity, and emerging industry technologies to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Oversee pricing and estimating processes by maintaining updated rate sheets and service pricing.
  • Collaborate with Sales Executives, Office Managers, and Division Managers to evaluate customer opportunities and prioritize strategic accounts.
  • Contribute annual budgets and sales forecasts, providing insight on revenue projections, staffing needs, and resource allocation.
  • Lead local recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing coaching/training of sales personnel to build a high-performing team.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for sales-related communication, both internal and external, ensuring timely and professional responses.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and excellence within the sales organization.

This role is designated as safety-sensitive due to responsibilities that could entail the use of motor vehicles, mobile equipment, working at heights, climbing ladders, and utilizing lift equipment.
