Position Overview
We are seeking a Carpenter with experience in civil and commercial construction. This position involves hands-on field work supporting a variety of construction activities, including forming, framing, concrete placement, and installation of doors, hardware, and specialty items.
Typical Duties
- Build forms for small walls and structures
- Frame walls and build temporary structures
- Install hardware, specialty finishes, and accessories
- Build scaffolding, platforms, railings, and temporary walls
- Read basic plans and perform layout and measurements
- Pour and finish concrete
- Rig materials for lifting and set materials in place
- Provide hand signal instructions to equipment operators
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely
- Follow all OSHA safety procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- 3 years of experience in construction or a related field
- Ability to understand, follow, and communicate written and verbal instructions
- Ability to give and understand hand signals
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
Pre‑Employment Requirements:
Applicants offered employment must successfully complete a drug/alcohol screening and a Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE). This evaluation is required for all incoming construction labor employees and ensures the ability to safely perform the essential functions of the job.
Physical Requirements
- Climbing and balancing on scaffolding and walkways
- Bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, twisting
- Working in confined or tight spaces
- Reaching, handling, and grasping materials
- Lifting up to 50 pounds
- Carrying objects weighing 50–100 pounds
