What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Assurance Inspector position at Voyager Manufacturing Inc?
Responsibilities
- Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections on machined components
- Operate inspection equipment including micrometers, calipers, height gauges, bore gauges, indicators, and optical comparators
- Interpret complex engineering drawings with tight tolerances and GD&T per ASME Y14.5
- Create and submit AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports, including drawing ballooning and characteristic accountability
- Coordinate and present parts to customer and government source inspectors at buyoff
- Document inspection results accurately and completely
- Work directly with machinists and programmers to catch issues upstream and support a right-first-time culture
- Maintain inspection tool control and gage calibration status
Requirements
- 4 years of precision inspection experience in a CNC or machine shop environment
- Strong command of dimensional inspection techniques and GD&T
- Proficient with hand tools and optical comparators
- Accurate, thorough documentation habits
- Reliable and self-motivated, able to work with minimal supervision
Preferred
- Operating CMMs (ZEISS Calypso or similar)
- Direct experience creating AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports
- Experience in an AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality system
- Aerospace or defense machining background
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.56 - $35.00 per hour
