A high-growth private equity firm is seeking an Assistant Controller to join its lean and highly collaborative finance team. With nearly $3B in AUM and significant institutional backing, the firm is entering a new phase of scale following the successful close of a flagship fund and continued transaction activity across multiple investment vehicles.
This is a unique opportunity to step into a high-impact role with broad exposure across fund accounting, operations, and investor reporting, working closely with senior leadership in a rapidly expanding platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day fund accounting and reporting across multiple vehicles (funds, SPVs, co-invests)
- Review financial statements, capital activity (calls/distributions), and investor allocations
- Partner with external fund administrators to ensure accuracy and timeliness of deliverables
- Support investor reporting and respond to LP inquiries
- Assist with audit and tax processes, working closely with external providers
- Maintain books and records, ensuring strong controls and data integrity
- Contribute to process improvements and infrastructure build-out as the firm scales
- Collaborate cross-functionally with leadership on ad hoc projects and operational initiatives
Candidate Profile
- 5–10 years of experience in private equity fund or alternative investment accounting
- Background in fund accounting strongly preferred (in-house or fund administrator)
- Public Accounting candidates with relevant investment management / PE audit experience
- Strong understanding of fund structures, capital activity, and financial reporting
- Detail-oriented, hands-on, and comfortable operating in a lean, high-growth environment
- CPA preferred
