Vortex Services is seeking to fill a position for a Pipelayer/Laborer.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Grading and leveling trench bases to place pipe in
- Laying, aligning, and positioning sections of pipe
- Making connections to lines including sewer lines, water lines, and storm sewers
- Checking slopes for confirmation to requirements
- Digging and setting pipe by hand
Skills required:
- Determine grade of trenching using tools including lasers and transit levels
- Operate cutting equipment to cut various types of piping materials
- Operate small powered equipment including tampers
- Cut, fit, and seal various types of piping
Qualifications:
- Experience as a Pipe Layer
- Valid driver license required
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and lift and move 50 lbs.
- Must be able to pass pre-employment drug test, background screening consistent with company standards
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday but can include shift work, weekends, evenings, holidays - flexibility is required as job duties demand.
