The purpose of this position is to diagnose, repair, and test returned products while providing ongoing product support, assisting with new product development and introduction, and supporting product assembly activities. This role ensures product quality and reliability through effective troubleshooting, collaboration with engineering teams, and adherence to service level agreements.
Key Responsibilities
Team Lead and Mentor
- Drive and motivate team on daily performance goals.
- Mentor and guide team on individual performance and troubleshooting escalations.
- Provide onboarding training and competency evaluations for new hires.
- Identify and escalate service trends, compliance and/or quality issues.
- Maintain 5S environment.
- SME for ECN/ECO implementation, and part identification.
- Troubleshoot, manage, and repair returned products.
- Provide continual feedback to the engineering team on issues discovered to assist with continuous improvement.
- Ensure adherence to turnaround times within agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Perform data entry and manage the RMA database and asset register.
- Manage storeroom stock and oversee sign-in/sign-out procedures.
- Assist with onsite training of customers as required.
- Assist with verification testing of products.
- Develop test fixtures and set up test environments.
- Implement test plans and collaborate with relevant teams to ensure timely completion of testing.
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities.
- Assist Engineering with product assembly and testing by setting up testing environments and executing manufacturing, repairs, and service activities.
- Assist with hardware, mechanical, and electrical product assemblies.
- Support test setup and provide training for new employees and customers.
- Build, test, and manufacture embedded products as needed.
- Work safely and support others to work safely, ensuring no harm is caused.
- Comply with all safe work practices and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Report hazards, incidents, and near misses promptly.
- Use all safety equipment and PPE as required.
- Support sustainability efforts by understanding environmental impacts and suggesting improvements.
- Minimum of an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree or equivalent, with a strong technical background in electronics or relevant qualifications at the degree, diploma, or trade level.
- 3-5 years’ work experience in a similar role
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Good hands-on skills with strong mechanical / electrical aptitude
- Ability to understand and apply a variety of electronic and mechanical instruments to existing and developing tests
