Position: Project Architect

Location: Denver, Colorado

The Project Architect is Vonmod’s most senior studio role. A hybrid of technician, project leader, and relationship builder who owns projects from first conversation through final installation. It’s a role defined by range: the ability to draft a precise shop drawing set and lead a client meeting on the same day, to manage a production schedule and spot a business opportunity in the same conversation.

We’ll be transparent: this is a role you grow into, not one you arrive at. Our work is highly custom and technically complex, and the full scope of a Project Architect, opportunity management, PM leadership, studio engineering, and business development—takes time to master at Vonmod’s level. What we’re hiring for is the foundation and the trajectory. We want someone who has the technical depth and people instincts to get here, and the ambition to make it their career.

Where You’ll Start

You’ll build deep fluency in Vonmod’s studio and project workflow by gaining a solid skillset in drafting & engineering, followed by project management functions on your assigned projects. This isn’t a stepping stone, it’s the foundation. The best Project Architects at Vonmod are the ones who mastered this phase completely.

Drafting & Engineering 

• Develop material, door, and assembly schedules 
• Create precise 3D manufacturing files and annotated shop drawing sets for production 
• Issue and resolve redline updates based on client and PM feedback
• Sync Cabinet Vision models into Innergy (ERP) and build accurate Bills of Materials 
• Prepare work orders and instructions for production and install teams 
• Resolve post-production remill requests

Project Management 

• Lead projects through Vonmod’s “Scope → VFX → Verification → Production → Install” process
• Serve as point of contact for Owners, Architects, Contractors, and Vendors (OACV) 
• Manage scope changes, schedule impacts, and client expectations with clarity 
• Monitor budgets, profit margins, and labor allocations 
• Lead internal kickoffs, pre-production meetings, and pre-install walkthroughs 
• Handle project closeout, invoicing, and warranty follow-up

Where You’re Headed

As you demonstrate mastery of the studio and project workflow, you’ll take on the full scope of the Project Architect role, including the functions below. This is the work that makes the PA seat genuinely senior, and genuinely rare.

Opportunity Management

• Vet and qualify new project opportunities for scope, budget, timeline, and material alignment
• Conduct showroom tours and create compelling budget proposals for incoming clients
• Align with the Integrator and fellow Project Architects to flag red flags and calibrate retainer strategies
• Convert approved opportunities into active projects and prepare them for smooth handoff to PMs
  
  

Project Quality Assurance

• Provide technical oversight and mentoring to PMs and Engineers embarking on the path you made, including process refinement and skills training
• Monitor project milestones, review deliverables, and mitigate risks in real-time
• Report quality issues and coaching needs to the Head of Studio
  
  

Client Relationships & Retention

• Nurture long-term relationships with architects, designers, and contractors
• Gather testimonials, document feedback, and build Vonmod’s reputation in the Colorado market
• Resolve client issues with speed, professionalism, and clarity

Each week, you’ll help drive:

• 100% of incoming project opportunities vetted and aligned
• 100% of project handoffs completed with clarity and readiness
• 100% of active projects monitored with feedback and risk mitigation in place
  
  

You’ll be a great fit if you:

• Have 5 years of experience in architecture, drafting, and project management within custom design-build
• Have 3 years experience as a Project Manager and deep familiarity with Vonmod processes
• Understand cabinetry fabrication, digital modeling, install logistics, and cross-department collaboration
• Communicate clearly and empathetically with both teams and clients
• A degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field

• Based in our Denver Studio during business hours
• Frequent client communication, occasional vendor or jobsite visits
• Collaboration across Studio, Production, and Install teams daily
