Business and Trust & Estates Attorney

von Briesen & Roper, s.c., is seeking an experienced Attorney to join our Trust & Estates and Corporate teams in our Madison office. The Attorney will assist individuals, families, and businesses on estate planning, wealth transfer, and general business matters.

The primary responsibilities for this role include:

• Provide advice on trust and estate planning, probate and trust administration, and related tax matters.
• Conduct client meetings and explain estate planning and tax planning concepts with clarity and confidence.
• Draft and implement foundational and advanced estate planning documents.
• Handle trust and estate administrations from start to finish, including court documents, inventories, accountings, beneficiary communications, and tax reporting.
• Advise clients on business formation, governance, and restructuring.
• Draft and negotiate operating agreements, shareholder agreements, buy-sell agreements, and other corporate documents.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates will have at least five years of experience drafting and implementing estate plans, handling trust and estate administrations, and working on general business matters including entity formation, purchase and sales, buy-sell agreements and real estate transactions. The ideal candidate will be highly-motivated to develop a statewide practice with travel for client meetings and client development and will exhibit strong writing, oral communication and analytical skills, and a passion for client service. They must be willing to collaborate with a team and work with internal and external clients, attorneys, and staff.

A portable book of business is welcome but not required.
