PROGRAM AND LOCATION VOA-NCNN, a Certified Great Place to Work, is recruiting for a full-time Talent Acquisition Specialist position. Full-time employees (working 30 or more hours a week) are eligible for a benefits package that includes paid holidays, vacation, sick pay, health, dental, vision, life, and short-term disability insurance coverage.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for full cycle recruiting for program and administrative positions across our California and Nevada locations, with a focus on high volume frontline and case management roles. This role partners closely with HR and program leadership to understand workforce needs, develop sourcing strategies, and ensure a positive, mission aligned candidate experience.

OBJECTIVES/ACTIVITIES

  • Full Cycle Recruiting
  • Partners with HR Manager, HR Generalist, and program leaders to forecast staffing needs and prioritize requisitions across California and Nevada.
  • Manage full cycle recruiting develop and post job announcements, screen applications, conduct initial interviews, coordinate hiring manager interviews, and support offer and pre hire processes.
  • Source candidates through job boards, social media, professional associations, colleges, workforce partners, and community organizations, with particular emphasis on frontline and case management pipelines.
  • Maintain and optimize use of the Applicant Tracking System (ATS), ensuring accurate data on candidates, requisitions, and recruitment metrics (time to fill, source of hire, offer acceptance).
  • Management of the ATS templates, forms, and documents to ensure accurate information.
  • Coordinate and participate in job fairs, hiring events, and community outreach activities to promote the organization as an employer of choice.
  • Collaborate with HR colleagues to standardize job descriptions, interview guides, and selection tools that reflect organizational values and legal/EEO requirements.
  • Support hiring managers with interview training, selection decisions, and equitable hiring practices.
  • Assist with onboarding coordination to ensure smooth handoff from “offer accepted” to first day, including communication with HR, IT, and program teams.
  • Assist with New Employee Orientation and other employee training.
  • Track and report recruiting metrics and trends, and recommend improvements to processes, sourcing channels, and candidate experience.


EQUIVALENT EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business, or related field is required. One to three years of experience in full cycle recruiting, talent acquisition, or a related HR role; experience supporting multiple locations or high-volume hiring is strongly preferred. Four years of additional recruiting experience may be considered in lieu of degree. Experience recruiting for human services, nonprofit, healthcare, or similar mission driven environments, or strong demonstrated commitment to nonprofit/mission focused work. Working knowledge of recruiting best practices, basic employment law/EEO considerations, and use of ATS and common sourcing platforms. Strong relationship building, communication, and consulting skills with hiring managers at all levels. Ability to manage multiple requisitions and deadlines in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities. Experience recruiting in California and/or Nevada and familiarity with regional labor markets preferred. Experience with nonprofit program roles such as shelter staff, case managers, outreach workers, and clinical/support positions preferred. Valid California driver's license and ability to meet the organization’s insurance carrier guidelines are required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and stoop throughout the workday

Ability to occasionally lift and move up to 10 pounds

Ability to drive to program sites and community locations as needed

Able to climb stairs as required when visiting programs
