This is a full-time, on-site role based in Sioux Falls, SD. The Prevention Specialist will lead and implement community-based prevention programs, conduct outreach and prevention education sessions, and collaborate with schools, organizations, and community stakeholders to deliver evidence-based programming. The individual will engage in data collection and analysis to evaluate program impact and effectiveness. Additionally, the Prevention Specialist will promote awareness and advocacy efforts aimed at reducing substance abuse, promoting mental health, and fostering healthier communities.
- Strong Communication skills, including public speaking and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse populations.
- Proficiency in Analytical Skills, including data collection, analysis, and reporting for program evaluation and improvement.
- Experience or knowledge in areas of Prevention and community outreach best practices.
- Understanding of Occupational Health and Security principles related to creating safe environments.
- Exceptional organizational abilities, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Education, or a related field is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and cultivate strong relationships within the community.
- Experience with substance abuse prevention or related work is a plus.
