What are the responsibilities and job description for the Administrative Assistant position at VolunteerMatch, Powered by Idealist?
For more than 100 years, the CincySmiles Foundation has been providing access to oral health care for children and families who need it most in our community. We help people put their best face forward through programs that include a school-based dental sealant program, donated professional services, a community dental clinic and dental road crew that provides comprehensive treatment to Cincinnati Public Schools.
We provide more than 15,000 Greater Cincinnati residents with oral health education, prevention and treatment services each year.
The CincySmiles Foundation had its origin in 1909, when a group of Cincinnati area dentists began a dental disease-screening program for low-income children in Cincinnati Public Schools. By 1910, having realized that identifying disease with no means of treatment was of little value, these same dentists initiated a school-based treatment program. In 1921, the agency became one of the original charter agencies of the Greater Cincinnati United Way Community Chest.
The agency has a long history of working with community partners and leveraging funds to provide or arrange for care for tens of thousands of medically indigent persons throughout Greater Cincinnati. Various programs over the years have served children of low-income families, persons with disabilities, the frail elderly, residents of nursing homes and group homes, people with HIV/AIDS and the homeless.
,
The volunteer Administrative Assistant will primarily help with scanning patient information into our system for digital use and storage. Medical knowledge is helpful but not required. Experience doing data entry helpful but not necessary.
Retirees, college students, stay at home Mom's are welcome to apply for this volunteer position. Flexible hours available within our normal hours; Mon - Thur 8am - 4pm Fri 8am - noon. Closed evenings and weekends.
