What are the responsibilities and job description for the Harakeke Hub Hosts & Community 'Sign-posters' position at Volunteer Marlborough?
Harakeke Hubs are a welcome place to foster meaningful connections. Those who come along may be looking to gain some social interaction and combat loneliness, have some friendly conversation, be supported to access and use the Marlborough CAB directory to find local services, groups, and organisations......or more!
Each Hub will be hosted by at least one trained, community-minded volunteer. The Hubs will take place in venues such as libraries, cafes, community rooms, youth centres, etc.
Alternatively, act as a Community Sign-poster. We need people out in the community to direct people to the Hubs, and hand out information about the Hubs and the Marlborough CAB Directory. Whether you're at the grocery store, at work, out for a walk, or with family & friends...have some cards on you and help spread the word!
FULL TRAINING is provided for these roles.

Requirements
The first step is to express your interest by filling out the form below. We will then put you in touch directly with the organisation for more information on the role and how to proceed.

Requirements
- Communication skills
- Listening skills
- Empathy
- Willingness to learn
- Adequate technology skills - operating a tablet, searching directory
- Ability to attend one of the scheduled training dates
- Sign-posting can be done on own time
- Hub dates and locations still to be set but anticipate up to 2 hours for hosting
- Training for potential Sign-posters and Hub Hosts will be held for up to 2 hours (allowing for questions and any paperwork)
