Positive Action Prevention Specialist – Full Time

Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Alcohol & Drug (A&D) Prevention Specialist to join our prevention team. This position delivers school-based and community prevention services using the Positive Action curriculum throughout Putnam and Van Buren Counties.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as a community liaison and promote prevention programs to schools, courts, and local agencies.
Develop and maintain referral relationships with community partners.
Conduct educational presentations and workshops on alcohol and drug prevention.
Facilitate weekly prevention education groups using evidence-based Positive Action curriculum.
Complete intake assessments, progress notes, and discharge summaries for participants.
Maintain accurate client documentation following EBP (Evidence-Based Practice) protocols.
Participate in community committees and regional prevention meetings.
Implement service learning activities that promote youth engagement and community responsibility.
Manage a caseload of approximately 135 participants annually and provide a minimum of 12 hours of group instruction per session.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required (Social Work, Psychology, Education, or related field preferred).
Experience working with youth programs or prevention education required.
Alcohol & Drug prevention experience strongly preferred.
Excellent communication, organization, and presentation skills.
Ability to work both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team.
