What are the responsibilities and job description for the Crisis Behavioral Health Liaison (Thursday-Sunday, 9 pm-7 am) position at Volunteer Behavioral Health Care System?
The Crisis Behavioral Health Liaisons play a crucial role in bridging the gaps in services at the Walk In Center (WIC), Crisis Stabilization Unit and Detox. They serve as crisis assessors, care managers, discharge planners, and educators.
Expectations and Duties:
Evaluate and triage clients at the WIC to determine the level of behavioral health care they required.
Conduct Crisis Assessments as needed and refer clients to the appropriate level of care for behavioral health treatment.
Assist with the application process for TN Safety Net and/or TennCare as needed to encourage follow through with behavioral health treatment and care.
Assist CSU and Detox staff with the care and maintenance of clients as they receive treatment, including helping with 15 minute checks, meal prep, and groups, if asked.
Establish and complete discharge plans with individuals leaving the CSU and Detox to make sure they have adequate follow-up care and mental health/substance abuse resources.
Requirements:
Must have Bachelor's degree in a health-related field of counseling, psychology, social work or other behavioral sciences and at least two years of paid work experience in the behavioral health setting. Knowledge of computer skills to be able to search and enter data in the Electronic Record system is required.
