Hours: 40 Guaranteed Hours per Week
Pay Range: $40–$45/hour (W2) | Weekly Pay
Duration: 13 Weeks (with potential to convert to Permanent – Instrumentum)
Start Date: ASAP (2 weeks)

Position Overview

Join a leading healthcare facility in Long Beach, CA as a Sterile Processing Technician (SPT). You’ll play a vital role in maintaining the highest standards of instrument sterilization, safety, and infection control, ensuring every surgical procedure runs smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Adhere to ANSI/AAMI standards, IFUs, SOPs, and facility Work Instructions.
• Decontaminate, clean, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment using proper PPE.
• Disassemble, inspect, and reassemble complex surgical instruments with precision.
• Assemble and package instrument trays and sets according to specifications.
• Operate washers, sterilizers, and autoclaves safely and efficiently.
• Inspect instruments for cleanliness, function, and potential damage.
• Document missing or damaged items per established procedures.
• Maintain accurate sterilization and tracking records using digital systems.
• Manage inventory and ensure timely replenishment of surgical instruments and supplies.
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of all processing equipment.
• Keep decontamination and preparation areas clean, safe, and organized.
• Collaborate effectively with OR staff, distribution teams, and management.
• Contribute ideas to improve workflow, efficiency, and safety standards.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and training.

Required Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Education:

• College degree or three-plus years of leadership experience.

Required Certifications & Licensure:

• -Certification in sterile processing (CRCST).

Preferred Certifications & Licensure:

• Certification in sterile processing (CIS).
• Healthcare leadership certification (HSPA-CHL).
