Position Overview: The Bartender at Voltaire, an upscale nightlife venue within The Venetian Casino, is entrusted with the key responsibility of enhancing the guest experience through exceptional beverage service to both patrons and cocktail servers. The Bartender will efficiently take and make guest’s beverage orders, collaborate with management and staff, handle financial transactions accurately, and always maintain a polished and professional demeanor.   

Key Responsibilities:

• Efficiently receive beverage orders and skillfully craft both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to departmental specifications.
• Elevate the guest experience by providing exceptional service, proactively identifying guest service opportunities, and exhibiting exemplary interpersonal skills with a warm and professional demeanor.
• Exhibit expertise in wine and champagne by the glass, major wines, liquor brands, beer, non-alcoholic beverages, designated glassware, terminology, and garnishes.
• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of menu items, liquor brands, wines, beers, and non-alcoholic selections available.
• Execute service guidelines meticulously, paying extreme attention to detail.
• Maintain effective communication with fellow Team Members to ensure consistently high service standards.
• Monitor inventory levels, ensuring the bar is consistently well-stocked, and collaborate as part of a team to ensure the bar's upkeep.
• Drive strategic initiatives to achieve financial goals by recognizing and capitalizing on up-selling opportunities.
• Collaborate with the management team to ensure proper functionality of bar equipment.
• Adhere to safe work practices, promoting a hazard-free environment and preventing self-injury and unsafe work methods.
• Be willing to engage in choreographed movement in the space.
• All other duties assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Minimum age of 21 years.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Possession of a Health card, Alcohol Awareness (TAM) card, Sheriffs Card, and any other required certifications or licenses.
• Three (3) years of bartending service experience in a high-volume, cash-handling setting.
• In-depth knowledge of beverages, including high-end wines/champagnes, liquor brands, beer, non-alcoholic beverages, glassware, terminology, and garnishes.
• Familiarity with customer ordering practices for beers, wines, and spirits.
• Proficiency in operating the POS system for accurate and efficient transactions.
• Superior customer service skills with confidence in a guest-facing role.
• Professional and well-groomed appearance in accordance with company standards.
• Proficiency in basic math skills, cash handling, and making accurate change.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with diverse guests and team members.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift or carry up to 50 pounds.
• Navigate all areas of the property.
• Maintain composure under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Stand, walk, stretch, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
• Work in a fast-paced and busy environment.
• Work indoors, exposed to various environmental factors like noise and smoke.
