Structural/Mechanical Engineer (On Site)

About The Role

Voltage Energy Storage is seeking a skilled Structural/Mechanical Engineer to lead a team of engineers in delivering cutting-edge Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects. This role blends technical leadership with hands-on engineering expertise, ensuring high-quality, compliant, and cost-effective structural solutions.

What You’ll Do

Project Execution

• Oversee design of foundations, racking systems, enclosures, and infrastructure
• Approve design packages and structural calculations
• Support construction teams with inspections and troubleshooting
  
  

Compliance & Standards

• Ensure adherence to codes (IBC, AISC, ACI, ASCE 7, local)
• Maintain and enforce internal design standards
• Coordinate with permitting authorities
  
  

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work with electrical, mechanical, and civil teams
• Collaborate with contractors and suppliers
• Provide input on procurement and vendor selection
  
  

Continuous Improvement

• Standardize processes to boost efficiency
• Apply lessons learned to future projects
• Stay current on industry innovations and tool
  
  

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Structural or Civil Engineering
• Licensed PE (Professional Engineer), multi-state registration preferred
• 4–6 years in structural engineering (renewables, substations, or industrial)
• Proven leadership in managing engineering teams
• Expertise in steel, concrete, and foundation design
• Proficiency in STAAD.Pro, ETABS, SAP2000, RISA, AutoCAD, Revit
• Strong project management and communication skills
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with BESS, solar PV, or utility-scale renewables
• Knowledge of modular and containerized construction
• Familiarity with geotechnical investigations
• Multi-region project delivery experience
