Position Summary
The Accounting Manager is responsible for end-to-end accounting operations for the company, with full ownership of the general ledger, monthly close, financial reporting, and accounting processes within NetSuite. This role is hands-on and operational, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and scalable accounting practices to support the company’s continued growth.
Key Responsibilities
Full-Cycle Accounting & Close (NetSuite)
- Own the end-to-end month-end close and all core accounting activities in NetSuite (GL, AP, AR, payroll accounting, accruals, fixed assets)
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process in NetSuite
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and close schedules
- Ensure the chart of accounts, reporting structure, and accounting workflows are accurate and well-maintained
- Lead and develop accounting staff, including future hires, ensuring continuity and cross-training
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Produce accurate monthly financial statements and management reports from NetSuite
- Perform variance analysis and explain results to leadership
- Partner with FP&A on budgeting and forecasting
- Maintain audit-ready schedules and supporting documentation
Light Inventory Accounting Exposure
- Support basic inventory-related accounting activities, including inventory-related accruals and COGS review
- Reconcile inventory-related GL accounts and investigate variances with Operations
- Review inventory adjustments, write-offs, and reserves
- Ensure inventory activity is accurately reflected for period-end close
NetSuite Ownership & Optimization
- Serve as the primary accounting owner of NetSuite
- Partner with IT, Operations, and external consultants on enhancements and integrations
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, automation, and data accuracy
Controls, Compliance & Audit
- Develop and maintain accounting policies and SOPs
- Own the month-end close checklist and process documentation
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable regulations
- Coordinate and support audits, tax filings, and information requests
- Assist with bank and lender reporting
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 7–10 years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong NetSuite experience
- Solid knowledge of GAAP
- Proven monthly close experience
Preferred:
- CPA or CPA-eligible
- Multi-entity or growth company experience
- Audit and tax support experience
