Job Title: Automotive Sales Manager

Location: 820 River Road, Puyallup WA 98371

Job summary: The Automotive Sales Manager oversees and coordinates the sales activities within an automotive dealership or sales department. They are responsible for leading and motivating a team of sales professionals to achieve sales targets and maintain customer satisfaction. The role involves developing sales strategies, implementing effective sales techniques, managing inventory, and ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

· Team Leadership: Provide leadership, guidance, and training to sales staff to enhance their sales skills and achieve performance targets.

· Sales Strategy: Develop and implement sales strategies to increase revenue and market share, including setting sales goals, forecasting sales, and analyzing sales data.

· Customer Service: Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction by resolving any issues promptly, ensuring a positive customer experience, and fostering long-term relationships.

· Inventory Management: Oversee inventory levels, including ordering vehicles, managing vehicle allocations, and optimizing inventory turnover.

· Sales Process Management: Ensure adherence to the sales process from lead generation to closing deals, including following up with potential customers and managing sales paperwork.

· Marketing and Promotions: Collaborate with the marketing team to develop promotional campaigns, advertising materials, and sales incentives to attract customers and increase sales.

· Compliance: Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies related to sales practices, vehicle sales, and customer privacy.

· Performance Evaluation: Conduct performance evaluations, set performance goals, and provide feedback to sales staff to improve their performance and productivity.

· Market Analysis: Stay informed about market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences to identify opportunities for business growth and development.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands of the Automotive Sales Manager role may include, but are not limited to:

· Standing and walking for extended periods, especially during showroom hours.

· Moving around the dealership lot to inspect inventory and assist customers.

· Lifting and carrying promotional materials, sales documents, and other items as needed.

· Operating a computer and other office equipment for administrative tasks.

· Occasionally assisting with vehicle test drives and demonstrations.

· Working in various weather conditions, including exposure to heat, cold, and precipitation when outdoors.

· Must be able to type and use technical sources, see well enough to read paperwork and computer screen, hear well enough to communicate with customers, vendors and employees.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of automotive sales experience, with at least 2 years in a sales management or leadership role
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals and profitability targets.
  • Strong understanding of dealership operations, inventory management, and F&I processes.
  • Excellent leadership and team development skills with the ability to motivate and coach a sales team.
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency with CRM tools, desking software, and DMS platforms.
  • Ability to analyze sales data and market trends to drive strategic decisions.
  • High level of integrity and commitment to ethical sales practices.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as required by the dealership schedule.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
  • Good communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Salary Range:

· $86,000 to $150,000, commission
