We are looking to add an experienced Service Advisor to our growing Volkswagen of Marion team!

As a Service Advisor, you will own our customer’s experience in our service center. You are the first point of contact with our customers. From greeting vehicle owners on the driveline to explaining the repair process, our Service Advisor is a true professional who enjoys helping others.

WHAT DOES A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A SERVICE ADVISOR LOOK LIKE?

  • Oversee the flow of our customer reception drive & area
  • Ensure that customers receive prompt, courteous, and effective service
  • Provide concierge support for all owner inquiries, whether by phone or in person, to assure the customer does not get mishandled
  • Answer phones and ensure that all department messages left by clients are returned promptly
  • Create estimates by costing materials, supplies, and labor; calculating customer’s payment including deductibles
  • Verifying warranty and service contract coverage, developing estimates, writing repair orders, and maintaining customer rapport and records. Advises customers on coverages.
  • Properly utilize all department technology and systems
  • Ensure that the daily inventory of technicians' time is consistently sold to service customers.
  • Overseeing and managing the service center’s scheduling and workflow
  • Prepares repair orders (RO) by describing symptoms, problems, and causes discovered, as well as repairs and services required.
  • Maintains department records including customer signatures
  • Informing customers of changes in service or when their vehicle is ready to be picked up
  • Back up service manager duties as needed
  • Completes all training as required
  • Provide support in all areas of the dealership as needed

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION?

  • A proven track record of success as an automotive service advisor is required
  • Experience dealing with complex level repairs and warranty repairs is required
  • 3-5 years of experience as an automotive service advisor is preferred
  • An in-depth technical understanding of vehicle repairs & maintenance / ability to communicate with both technicians and customers about repairs
  • Previous experience working with warranty repairs and third-party warranty companies
  • Experience working in a franchised dealership is preferred
  • Experience with CDK is a plus but not required

POSITION DETAILS:

  • Full time: Base pay plus incentives for sales on parts and labor
  • Expected Pay Range: $40,000 - $75,000 per year depending on prior job history, work experience, training, and overall skill set
  • Applicants outside this pay range who meet all the qualifications and have previous experience in a similar role are still encouraged to apply
