Digital Solutions Architect - VW

Role Summary:
The Digital Solution Architect is responsible for the technical leadership of the Digital Team, suggesting and promoting technical innovative solutions to support the Volkswagen customer journey. The Solution Architect works closely with Enterprise Architecture Group, Internal IT and Vendor delivery teams to ensure alignment of solutions in accordance with guidelines set by Enterprise Architecture Review Board. This role also works closely with IT-Security in ensuring the solutions meet IT-security guidelines established by VWGoA-IT security. Work with Volkswagen Group Development teams to ensure consistent customer experience across platforms. Role is responsible to produce and maintain architectural wiki pages and deliverables as needed within Confluence.
Role Responsibilities:
Hands on Technical leadership position – 60%
- Act as ‘go-to-person’ and trusted technical advisor for project development teams
- Lead solutioning discussions with product teams filing identified gaps
- Act as key technical liaison between AoA/ACI projects
- Collaborate with other Technical Architects, Security Architects & Enterprise Architects by communicating business needs and architectural details in order to gain acceptance of technical solution organizationally
- Bring innovative solutions to resolve business problems
- Develop, document and gain approval for technical solutions related to the Digital Program
- Represent technical solutions with vendors, business, and as needed VW AG
- Lead transition to support teams for the developed and deployed code
- Provide secure solutions that mitigate security vulnerability risks.
- Provide and promote innovative solutions based on benchmarking or market best practices.
Maintain Process & Governance focus – 20%
- Maintain a thorough understanding of VWGOA Architecture Review Board requirements, PMO Standards for project delivery & IT-Security needs of the organization
- Ensure Architecture documents are maintained to represent the as built solutions and appropriately approved and stored
- Review project portfolio initiatives pro-actively and prepare for ARB meetings and solution review with IT-security
- Present Solution to ARB to gather input and final approval of solutions as required by business and IT project initiatives
- Ensure Agile delivery of Digital solutions adhere to approved architecture solution by participating in solution design review meetings
- Foster innovation
Collaboration with DevOps, Delivery and Security Teams – 20%
- Collaborate with Support and DevOps in identifying opportunities to optimize the systems or provide more efficient utilization of resources
- Collaborate with Cloud DevOps team to bring further automation scripting for source code management and code based deployment
- Participate in deployment planning for each releases to ensure its accuracy. Ensure Pre-deployment, deployment and Post-deployment activities are accurately captured by seeking input from Developers, Admins and Project Delivery Leads
- Collaborate with IT Security architects and team in identifying vulnerabilities on the SF platform, taking action implementing secure solution that mitigate security risks.
Qualifications:
Years of Experience:
- 10 years of experience in advanced technologies including a minimum of 5 years as a Technical Architect with key focus on B2C Applications
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in IT or Equivalent Technical Experience - required
- Master’s degree in IT or related field - desired
Skills:
- Extensive experience in an Agile Development environment
- Ability to evaluate alternatives and provide decision supporting information
- Experience in the concepts and methodologies of enterprise architecture
- Knowledge of current web and mobile technologies
- Flexibility in approach and willingness to learn / adapt to environmental requirements
- Understanding of security requirements and protocols
- Deep knowledge of information technologies (Database, Business Intelligence, Infrastructure, Networks, Web & Integration software)
- Broad understanding of technologies and has experience in implementation methodologies, software development life cycle process, and project management
- Excellent planning and organization, project management and time management skills
- Strong problem solving and negotiation abilities
- Ability to inform, educate and influence managers and teams to support solutions
- Good written and verbal presentation skills
- Proven technical leadership experience
- Extensive background in designing architectural solutions for large complex programs
- Proven experience in leading, guiding & mentoring development teams (design-implementation)
- Experience leading technical troubleshooting including bug fix remediation
- Experience in design and implement secure solutions

Specialized Skills:
Required:
- Requires Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Management Information Systems or equivalent experience
- Agile development experience
- Understanding of continuous deployment strategies and cloud hosting principals
- Understanding of IT Security principals and data handling procedures and security risk vulnerabilities
- Java, React, Node.js, MySQL, Jenkin
Desired:
- Strong Automotive OEM experience
- Working experience in using collaboration tools like confluence & JIRA
- Understanding of UX development strategies
- Understanding of Native App Development and Deployment to Apple and Google
- Agile/SCRUM, related skills JIRA, Wiki, GitHub
- Knowledge of AEM, FeatureHub and AWS is preferred
- knowledge of graphql and microservices

Work Flexibility:
