Description
The Document Scanning Technician is responsible for accurately digitizing, organizing, and maintaining personnel records in accordance with WMATA’s established quality control standards and records management policies. This role ensures document integrity, accessibility, and compliance across all stages of the document lifecycle.
Key responsibilities include meticulously following WMATA’s quality control procedures to verify the accuracy and completeness of scanned documents, ensuring high-quality digital records that reflect original source materials. The Document Scanning Technician stores and retrieves files for authorized personnel using the automated check-out system and maintains detailed logs to track document movements and access.
Additional duties include transferring inactive physical files to off-site storage facilities in alignment with WMATA’s HR record retention schedules and retrieving archived files upon authorized request. The role requires strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and adherence to established records management protocols to ensure the accuracy and security of sensitive HR documentation.
Requirements
Education/ Experience
High school diploma or GED.
One (1) year of experience working in a high-volume sensitive records environment, including records storage and retrieval, and electronic scanning.
