The Welder I fabricates metal material by using appropriate welding techniques. Interprets blueprints, specifications, diagrams, or schematics to determine appropriate welding process. Complies with all safety requirements for working in a hazardous environment.
Responsibilities:
- Performs all job requirements according to procedures as outlined in the VOITH Quality Manual, Company Procedures, and Work Instructions.
- Reports problems to higher levels of authority as required by the Quality System.
- Confer with Engineers, production personnel, or others as needed to satisfactorily resolve quality problems.
- Preforms basic MIG and TIG welding techniques.
- Ability to work independently
- Operate overhead crane, tow motor and various hand tools.
- Required to grind as necessary.
- May be required to work 3rd shift.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proficiency in blueprint reading and should have mastered basic math skills.
- Able to work from pre-established guidelines such as routings to perform the functions of the job.
- Welding &/or fabrication: 1-3 years or enrolled in a welding program.
