Position Summary
The HR Generalist is responsible for supporting and executing a wide range of human resources functions, including full-cycle recruiting, onboarding, employee engagement, employee relations, and HR administration. This role serves as a key point of contact for employees and candidates, ensuring a positive employee experience and supporting organizational goals through effective HR practices.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities
Full-Cycle Recruiting
- Manage the end-to-end recruitment process for assigned roles
- Partner with hiring managers to review and refine job descriptions
- Post open positions and manage requisition approvals
- Oversee applicant tracking and candidate pipeline management
- Schedule interviews and coordinate follow-ups with hiring teams
- Serve as the primary point of contact for candidates throughout the hiring process
- Prepare and extend offer letters
- Collaborate with external recruiting partners as needed
- Coordinate onboarding activities to ensure a smooth new hire experience
- Complete I-9 verification and pre-employment screenings
- Facilitation of orientation sessions for new employees
- Coordinate workspace setup, including desk arrangements and equipment
- Submit IT tickets for system access and onboarding needs
- Create and maintain employee personnel files
- Support and maintain training matrices for new hires and teams
- Plan and execute employee engagement initiatives and events including Munchie Monday, March Madness, Corporate Games, Chili Cook-off, birthday celebrations, Engineering Week, and holiday events
- Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture
- Maintain accurate employee records and documentation
- Process employee status changes (PAFs)
- Manage and track tuition reimbursement programs
- Prepare HR reports as needed
- Collaborate with HR representatives across business units
- Respond to employee inquiries and provide guidance on HR policies and procedures
- Assist in resolving employee relations issues and workplace conflicts
- Support performance management processes including performance reviews
- Assist with terminations in a compliant and professional manner
- Lead university recruitment initiatives including career fairs, EIT interviews, and campus events
- Build relationships with academic institutions to support early talent pipelines
- Assist with immigration-related processes and documentation
- Ensure compliance with employment regulations and company policies
- Support safety initiatives and programs across the organization
Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- 2-5 years of HR experience, preferably in a generalist role
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
- Experience with HRIS systems and applicant tracking systems preferred
- Knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
