Payee Services Coordinator – Full Time
Do you have the passion to work with numbers and provide budgeting guidance? If so, we are looking for you as our Payee Services Coordinator. As client Payee Services Coordinator you will be at the frontline of connecting with clients and provide financial guidance and improvements to some of our most vulnerable clients.
The Payee Services Coordinator assists individuals experiencing mental illness, homelessness, or disability with payment of monthly bills to ensure stable housing and independence. The ideal candidate would have experience working with and sensitivity to individuals with mental or physical disabilities. This position makes a positive, direct impact on clients receiving Social Security income. If you are looking for a rewarding career that helps people achieve self-sufficiency, we want to meet you!
Here’s an idea of what you’ll be doing:
- Provide money management services to clients who obtain Social Security, SSI, or Veteran Administration income by making monthly, timely payments to meet financial obligations on the clients’ behalf.
- Prepare monthly budgets with clients to set goals and determine needs.
- Input all transactions through payee accounting software with accurate reporting.
- Establish and maintain a close working relationship with community agency partners and their staff to ensure clients receive optimal services.
- Answer incoming calls and problem solve client’s questions and requests.
- Prepare periodic reports to Social Security Administration.
Preferred Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in social services, psychology, business, accounting, public relations field or equivalent work experience as determined by the Director of Payee Services and/or the Director of Human Resources.
- Social work or case management experience preferred in behavioral health or community service field.
- Basic budgeting skills required.
