Administrative and Program Assistant-GDP
Location: Chicago, IL 60612
Pay: $19.30 – 23.16 per hour ($40,144 – $48,173 annually)
Schedule: Part-time, Non-Exempt (20 hours/week). The typical work schedule for this position is Saturdays and Sundays from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Additional hours may be required to provide coverage for holidays and staff events, which are generally scheduled from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. This position reports to the Manager of Supportive Services.

Program Overview: Hope Manor I is one of the first large-scale supportive housing developments specifically designed for Veterans in the City of Chicago.
Position Summary: The Administrative and Program Assistant-GDP is responsible for coordinating office and program services and performing a variety of tasks including clerical functions to ensure the effective and efficient functioning of the office and program.
Work Environment amp; Schedule:
- Part-time, in-office position averaging 20 hours per week/weekends
- Community-based travel required
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Physical demands include sedentary work, computer use, and frequent communication with clients, colleagues, and partners involved in client support.
What You’ll Do:
- Greet guests/residents/clients, answer telephone, take messages, respond to routine inquiries, and make outside contacts for purposes of relaying or obtaining information and keeping staff informed.
- Compose and type routine correspondence, reports and documents.
- Prepare/type minutes and reports within policy and procedural guidelines.
- Assist in research, statistical gathering and analysis for purposes of generating reports.
- Maintain systems to track data for assigned staff.
- Maintain files and records following prescribed procedures.
- Uphold the mission and values of VOA of Illinois at all times.
Qualifications
Required:
- Position requires a high school diploma.
- Position requires one – two years of demonstrated experience in the helping/service field.
- Excellent communication, writing, problem solving, and organizational skills.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, especially with spreadsheets, databases, and reporting tools.

Salary : $40,144 - $48,173
