Overview
The Visiting Nurse Association is seeking a Resale Boutique Sales Associate to work in our Hidden Treasures store. This person will assist the store manager with the day-to-day operations of the resale boutique including: implements strategies to improve customer service, increase store sales, and maximize proceeds, ensures customer needs are met, complaints are resolved, and service is quick and efficient, maintains store appearance and product presentation to company standards, provides support to store volunteers during peak periods or when scheduling conflicts arise, and facilitates pickup and delivery of merchandise and donations. The successful candidate will be highly self- motivated and will possess strong communication skills, excellent critical thinking ability and will have superior organizational skills. Creativity in this role is a must!
Responsibilities
1. Responsible for daily operation of the shop, in accordance with established policies and procedures. Operates register, processes credit card transactions, marks donations and sets up displays.
2. Ability to lift, move and rearrange boxes, bags, furniture and lamps.
3. Must be able to climb ladders.
4. Clean furniture and straighten departments throughout the store.
5. Keep all departments (i.e. women's, men's, linens, housewares, electronics, accessories) clean and neat.
6. Work in marking room to keep donated items flowing out to the sales floor.
7. Keep working and merchandise areas safe for volunteers and customers.
8. Ability to hook up televisions and other electronics for resale when customer needs assistance.
9. Remove undesirable stock and change out color-coded tickets when required.
10. Facilitates pick ups and deliveries to accommodate donor and driver time. Responsible for driving and maintaining box truck. Load and unload items for resale.
11. Back up to cashiers and markers as needed.
12. Ability to close out and balance the cash register and make bank deposits.
13. Create displays and dress mannequins when needed.
14. Oversees cleaning crew and maintains kitchen area between scheduled cleaning times.
Resale Boutique Sales Associate will perform the following duties in the absence of the Resale Boutique Manager:
1. Makes signs for sales and upcoming events.
2. Research items for sale on the internet.
3. Appropriately price furniture to be sold.
4. Take responsibility of the shop and the volunteers.
5.Schedule volunteers to fill shifts as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) at a minimum.
- One to three years retail experience desired.
- Experience in a resale or consignment operation a plus.
