The Equipment Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing various types of machinery used in our landscape and construction projects. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment, including skid steers, mini excavators, bulldozers, and loaders, to ensure proper functioning and compliance with safety standards
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues using specialized tools and equipment
- Repair or replace defective parts, components, and systems as needed
- Use computerized diagnostic tools to identify and address equipment issues
- Maintain an inventory of parts and tools required for repairs and maintenance
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed
- Complete work orders and submit detailed reports to the Maintenance Manager
- Communicate effectively with equipment operators and other team members regarding equipment conditions and repairs
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment
- Stay updated on industry best practices and new technologies
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a heavy equipment mechanic or similar role
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or degree in heavy equipment mechanics preferred
- Valid driver’s license
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools and mechanical systems
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
