As a Facility Maintenance Technician Trainee at Vivolac Cultures, you will be an integral part of our operations, ensuring that our facilities and equipment are maintained to the highest standards. This entry-level position offers hands-on training, allowing you to develop valuable skills in facility maintenance, including HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical work, and general building upkeep. This role is vital in supporting our mission to deliver quality food culture systems while contributing to a safe and efficient working environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist experienced technicians with routine inspections and preventive maintenance of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical.
- Learn to perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks under supervision.
- Shadow team members to understand troubleshooting and repair processes for building systems.
- Respond to service requests and assist with resolving maintenance issues, escalating when necessary.
- Help maintain the inventory of maintenance supplies and tools, ensuring stock is replenished as needed.
- Participate in safety checks and adhere to safety procedures while working in the facility.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance areas and tools.
- Assist in setting up rooms for meetings or events and maintaining common areas of the facility.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and assist with documentation.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance knowledge and skills related to facility maintenance.
- Complete various certifications and programs in continuing education.
Qualifications
- Strong desire to learn and pursue a career in facility maintenance or skilled trades.
- Basic understanding of hand tools and equipment used in maintenance (training will be provided).
- Ability to work well as part of a team and take direction from senior staff.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication skills and ability to interact professionally with colleagues and staff.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks.
- Physical ability to perform maintenance tasks, including lifting, climbing, and bending.
- Willingness to work in various environments, both indoors and outdoors.
- Must pass a mechanical aptitude test as part of the hiring process.
