Associate Director, Clinical Development
Location: Boston, MA (Hybrid)
A Boston-based biotech advancing transformative therapies for patients with serious neurological conditions. With a strong foundation in neuroscience, translational biology, and clinical innovation, we are rapidly expanding our clinical development team to support multiple programs entering and progressing through clinical trials.
This position works closely with senior clinical leaders and cross-functional teams to ensure strong scientific and medical input into study design, trial execution, and data interpretation. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in CNS drug development, excellent clinical judgment, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced biotech environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to clinical strategy, development plans, and protocol design for neurology programs.
- Serve as medical monitor, supporting eligibility, safety review, and data interpretation.
- Collaborate with Regulatory Affairs on IND filings, amendments, and study documents.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to integrate clinical, safety, and translational data into program decisions.
- Support risk assessment, safety monitoring, and benefit–risk evaluations.
- Engage with investigators, KOLs, and external collaborators; represent the company at scientific meetings.
Qualifications
- MD, MD/PhD, PhD, PharmD, or equivalent advanced scientific/medical degree.
- 5–8 years of experience in clinical development within biotech/pharma, with a focus on neurology or CNS therapeutic areas.
- Hands-on experience with protocol development, medical monitoring, and global clinical trial execution.
- Strong understanding of clinical research methodology, GCP, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex clinical data.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate in multi-disciplinary teams and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in neurodegenerative, neuromuscular, movement disorders, psychiatric, or rare neurological diseases is a plus.
- Familiarity with neurology-related biomarkers, neuroimaging methods, or digital endpoints.
- Experience working within an early-stage or mid-stage biotech company.
