Overview
We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and dedicated Homemaker to provide essential support to older adults and individuals with disabilities in their homes. Homemakers play a vital role in helping clients maintain independence, dignity, and safety by assisting with daily household tasks and promoting a supportive, nurturing environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in caregiving, social services, or community support, particularly those experienced in working with older adults.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs) such as: Light housekeeping (dusting, vacuuming, laundry, dishes, trash removal), Meal preparation and safe food storage, Grocery shopping and errands (as assigned), and Medication reminders (non-medical support only)
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized home environment.
- Observe and report changes in a client’s physical, mental, or emotional condition to the supervisor or designated healthcare professional.
- Follow agency policies and program requirements, including proper documentation of visits and adherence to client care plans.
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and agency staff to ensure quality of service.
Requirements
- Valid Massachusetts Driver’s License and access to a reliable, insured vehicle for travel between client homes.
- Ability to perform light physical tasks, including standing, bending, lifting, and carrying household items
- Prior experience in home care, caregiving, assisted living, or community support preferred
- Compassionate, patient, and dependable nature with a commitment to improving quality of life
- Familiarity with memory care and dementia support strategies highly desirable.
- Must successfully complete pre-employment requirements (background check, references, and agency orientation)
