What are the responsibilities and job description for the Supply Clerk position at VITAS Healthcare?
Keep track of inventories and distributes stocks of office, medical, or other supplies. Acts as the backup for the receptionist by, answering phones, disseminating messages and mail, filing, scanning, file preparation and maintenance. This position may be required to travel from main office to satellite locations and independently carry out tasks.
- Order, receive, and organize supplies in the supply room.
- Track and maintain supply inventory; verifies inventory levels by checking shelves.
- Review incoming purchase orders, quantities requested, and orders requested items; inspects and verifies supplies received against invoice and packing slip.
- Locate stock and prepare orders for staff to pick up according to the order pick list.
- Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promote continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
- Perform clerical duties related to the reception desk and maintaining stock inventories; will operate a computer terminal and/or office phone.
KSAs
- Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering and inventory control.
- Ability to receive, stock, and/or deliver goods.
- Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications.
- Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures.
- Ability to receive, track, and distribute materials, supplies, and equipment.
- Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork.
- Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
- Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Qualified candidates must have the following:
- Minimum of two years office experience:
- Excellent organizational and communication skills required
- Ability to work with confidential matters
- Moderate typing skills, and some computer applications
EDUCATION
- High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
