Our brands Vitamin Well, NOCCO, and Barebells are available across most of Europe, North America, the MENA region, and parts of Asia Pacific. With a revenue of 650 million euros, we operate in over 40 markets, with headquarters in Stockholm and offices in fourteen countries around the world.

Vitamin Well entered the US market in 2019 and launched Barebells in 2020. Since then, we have grown rapidly and are now the no1 protein bar in the US.

Global product development is based at our headquarters in Stockholm, and to support continued growth in the US, we are now looking for an experienced Senior Product Developer to join us locally.

About The Role

As the Senior Product Developer for Barebells in the US, you will take a leading role in the development and commercialisation of our protein bars for the US market.

This is a senior product development role centred on formulation, scaling, and product performance. You will work across the full development cycle – from concept and prototyping through to products running in production – ensuring they deliver on taste, texture, and consistency at scale.

You will work with products that need to hold up in manufacturing, where formulation and process are tightly linked and small changes have immediate impact. A key part of the role is ensuring products are robust, scalable, and ready for production in real manufacturing environments.

This new role is expected to be based in the southeastern US to stay close to manufacturing and production partners.

What you will do:

• Lead the development and optimisation of protein bar formulations
• Drive projects from concept through to commercial launch
• Ensure products are scalable and perform in manufacturing, including co-man environments
• Work closely with production partners during scale-up and troubleshoot issues in real time
• Optimise texture, taste, nutritional targets, and shelf-life within production constraints
• Own formulation changes, ingredient selection, and technical problem-solving
• Ensure structured documentation, specifications, and product standards
• Contribute to continuous improvement of products and processes
• Stay up to date on ingredients, technologies, and trends within protein and functional nutrition

Who are you:

You have solid hands-on experience from a senior product development role, and have gained in-depth knowledge of how protein systems behave in formulation, processing, and production.

You have taken products from development through to commercial production and are comfortable working close to manufacturing, including scale-up and troubleshooting.

You combine a strong foundation in food science with practical experience in formulation, ingredient functionality, and product performance.

You are comfortable owning projects and driving them forward, balancing product quality with scalability, timelines, and commercial requirements.

What you will need to succeed:

• Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or similar
• 5 years of hands-on experience working with protein products in product development and R&D
• Proven experience developing and scaling protein-based products in manufacturing environments
• Experience working closely with manufacturing or co-manufacturers
• Strong understanding of formulation, ingredient functionality, processing, and scaling
• Ability to troubleshoot and solve technical challenges in production environments
• Strong sense of ownership and accountability for results
• Structured and pragmatic way of working

The expected salary range for this role is $80,000–$120,000. Final compensation will depend on experience, skills, and location.
