Construction Project Director role in San Jose leading higher education and institutional programs with an established builder serving Northern California.

Our client is a respected Northern California general contractor with a strong presence in the education sector and a reputation for delivering large, multi-phase programs. This senior leadership role carries profit and loss responsibility, oversees multiple project teams, and contributes to operational planning and client strategy.

You will direct higher education and institutional projects across San Jose and the South Bay, including campus modernizations, academic facilities, research buildings, and infrastructure improvements. Programs frequently involve occupied campuses, phased construction, extensive stakeholder coordination, and complex scheduling requirements.

Desired Skills and Experience

• 12 years of experience, preferably with a Top ENR GC

• Proven profit and loss leadership across multiple projects or programs.

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent experience.

• Strong leadership, financial, and relationship management skills.

Compensation

Base salary range of $160,000 to $220,000, plus annual bonus potential of 20% to 30% and long-term incentive opportunities. Total compensation reflects a senior leadership role with profit and loss responsibility.

Public funding initiatives and long-range campus plans support multi-phase institutional projects that require experienced construction leadership and careful coordination within active campus environments.
