Clinic Overview
Established over 20 years ago, Vital Family Practice Center is a primary care clinic in Mesquite, TX. We provide inclusive medical services to the community by providing accurate assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management of health problems, health counseling, and immigration physicals for our patients.
Basic Function
To assist physicians and patients with needed responsibilities on a daily basis. BILINGUAL (Spanish & English) is a requirement.
Responsibilities
1. Oversee and ensure efficient flow of exam rooms.
2. Maintain exam rooms in a neat and clean manner at all times.
3. Comply with patient needs at all times.
4. Escort patients from the waiting room to examination rooms.
5. Remove dressings, casts, etc., and provide patients with gowns as necessary.
6. Ensure patient charts contain all pertinent information and are placed in designated areas for Physicians' use.
7. Alert Physicians of patients' allergies prior to beginning exams and any abnormalities during their triage, such as patients with high blood pressure.
8. Assist Physicians with injections, aspirations, castings and/or other procedures as necessary.
9. Monitor supply levels and replace them as needed.
10. Instruct patients regarding the information needed once they leave the office to include:
- use of braces or crutches -follow an appropriate diet
- medication usage - home exercise programs
11. Photocopy information is given to patients, and place copies in appropriate charts.
12. Apply knowledge of sterile techniques and OSHA regulations.
13. Medical Assistants may spend a great deal of their professional day walking, standing, moving and manipulating equipment, as well as lifting and moving objects, equipment and supplies. It is reasonable to anticipate lifting 20-25 pounds in any given day.
14. Perform other related duties as assigned.
