About the Clinic
Vitae Family Care Clinic is a Catholic mission organization rooted in the belief that every person deserves care that honors the dignity of the human body as God designed it. As a pro-life practice in West Des Moines, our mission is to help families grow healthy, vibrant, and strong. Led by Dr. Greg McKernan, our small, close-knit office is built on unhurried, personal care, and we're looking to grow a team that shares that same calling.
Position Summary
As our Office Registered Nurse, you'll work side-by-side with Dr. McKernan to guide patients through every step of their visit, from check-in to follow-up care. It's a broad, hands-on clinical role where no two days look the same: you'll take real ownership of patient care and help shape how our small office runs day-to-day. No prior clinic experience necssary; Dr. McKernan will train on the job.
Responsibilities
- Rooming and prepping patients for visits
- Taking basic patient history (using Aprima EMR)
- Administering injections
- Setting up for and assisting with minor in-office surgical procedures
- Contacting patients with test results and other follow-up information
- Setting up referrals to specialists and other providers
- Handling prior authorizations for select services, medications, and labs
- Occasional patient scheduling and payment posting, as needed
- Other clinical and office support duties as they arise
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Iowa
- Prior experience in an outpatient/office setting preferred
- Willing to train on the job
- Comfortable with EMR systems (Aprima experience a plus, not required)
- Comfortable using AI tools (e.g., our AI scribe) to support documentation and daily workflow
- Strong communication skills and comfort working closely with patients and a small care team
- Flexible, self-directed, and comfortable with a varied day-to-day workload
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
