What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Safety Representative position at Visu-Sewer LLC?
We are seeking an engaged and results-driven Field Safety Representative to join our team. This position will report to the safety director and will act as a field health, safety and general compliance contact along with being a subject matter expert to ensure compliance with the company’s EHS policies and programs. This role is critical for mitigating exposure to risk by conducting field safety audits, employee observations and accident investigations. The Field Safety Representative will seek ways to improve health, safety and risk management to better impact the behaviors and well-being of all employees.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct field safety audits in accordance with the company health and safety manual.
- Work with the safety director and the operations team to provide support in managing incidents, ensuring they are appropriately captured, reviewed for root cause, identify corrective actions and track to completion.
- Educate and ensure compliance with the Safety and Health program on jobs that you visit.
- Update systems with procedures and guidelines for the Safety Program, and report to the safety director.
- Support safety recommendations for specific operations.
- Study and provide support on current information on government regulations for Occupational Safety and Health (OSHA), Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and keep Management and Supervisors advised of revisions of new regulations applicable to company actives.
- Travel as needed to conduct safety inspections of jobsites, public areas, adjacent thereto, take necessary and timely corrective actions to eliminate unsafe acts or conditions.
- Team member to support, maintain, and implement a safety-training program for supervisors and employees as applicable to their specific jobs and assist in weekly safety huddle meetings and Task Hazard Analysis development.
- Support collecting reports required for records and evaluations of performance of Safety and Accident Prevention Programs.
- Complete and review Incident, Injury reports as required to assure timely submission and to initiate corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Review with Safety Director for prior to submitting.
- Conduct accident investigations as needed with the Safety Director and preparation of required forms for timely submission.
- Ensure employees receive medical treatment for all injuries and required drug and alcohol tests as required and supported by the Safety Director.
- When on site ensure that all sub-contractors employees comply with jobsite safety rules and regulations.
- Conduct training to ensure compliance with all Federal, State, and Local regulations along with company safety policies.
- Support safety visits with company insurance carriers.
- Maintain safety records, OSHA 300, and coordinate with Safety Director to support human resources.
Qualifications
Required Basic Qualifications
- Minimum of an associate’s degrees in environmental, Health and Safety or a related field from an accredited university
- Minimum of two years’ experience in Environmental, Health and Safety
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
- Must possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted driver’s license
- No relocation is available for this position. Candidates must reside within 50 miles of Pewaukee, WI
- Must be willing and able to travel overnight 60%
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
- Professional certification (OSHA general certification, OSHA construction certification, fall protection, medical first responder)
- Experience with EHS program management and/or EHS employee training
- BCSP certification
