General Summary of Duties
The payroll and general ledger accountant II is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the company’s financial records and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. This role oversees the full cycle of general ledger accounting while also managing payroll processing and related reconciliations.
Primary Responsibilities
- Prepare, maintain, and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards
- Enter all company tally sheets daily to general ledger and balance daily.
- Processes multi-cycle payrolls on regular schedules ensuring accuracy of wages, deductions, bonuses, and benefits
- Prepare periodic reports of earnings, taxes, and deductions.
- Review wage information and correct errors to ensure accuracy of payroll.
- Enter employee and physician payrolls to general ledger and balance to payroll reports.
- Code monthly group insurance statement, verify changes to employee coverages.
- Enter all physician revenue and adjustments monthly to general ledger. Also enter miscellaneous monthly entries to the general ledger
Performance Requirements: Knowledge, skills, and abilities
- Ability to set priorities in front of multiple requests.
- Ability to communicate with employees and physicians clearly while maintaining a team environment
- Ability to maintain a prominent level of confidentiality.
- Thorough understanding of payroll procedures and regulation
- May require travel between offices.
Education
- Degree in accounting preferred
Experience
- Two years of payroll experience preferably with Paycom HRIS.
- Medical Office setting work preferred.
