Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate High School Auto Technology Teacher to join our award winning program. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in automotive technology with the ability to inspire students through hands-on learning experiences. This role includes developing and implementing lesson plans that integrate academic knowledge with real-world automotive practices, assessing student progress, and collaborating with colleagues to promote interdisciplinary learning.

~Manage shop safety and equipment
Requirements:
Position Requirements:
~ASE Master Certification
~5 years industry experience
~Expertise in electric/hybrid vehicles
~Advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) knowledge
~Experience with diagnostic equipment and software
~Hold a valid Career Technical Education (CTE) in Transportation

Ability to qualify for the Preliminary CTE based on industry experience.
To qualify for a CTE Credential:
Candidate must meet the following criteria to be considered for this credential:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Three (3) years (*3000 hours) of work experience directly related to the industry sector needed, with at least one year of hands-on experience, and recency of one (1) year in the last five (5) years, or two(2) years within the last ten (10) years.
(Note: One year equals a minimum of 1000 clock hours and experience may be full-time or part-time, paid or unpaid.)

Qualifying Employment Verification Options:
Documentation of work experience: Must be able to provide letters to document work experience by any of the following:
Employer Available Verification; Employer Unavailable Verification or Self-Employment Verification
Official Transcripts — showing relevant coursework (48 semester units = two years experience)
Advanced Industry Certifications (can equal one year of experience)
Verification of General Education Teaching Experience (can equal one year of experience)
Note: With an "Employment Offer", qualified candidates must apply for the CTE credential and subsequently must enroll in the CTE Credential Program offered through the San Diego County Office of Education (SDCOE).
All CTE Program costs through the SDCOE are incurred by the candidate.
