Job Summary

Responsibilities
- Administer treatments such as Botulinum toxin injections and other injectable therapies with precision and adherence to safety protocols.
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and physiological evaluations to determine treatment suitability.
- Manage complex procedures including IV infusions, catheterizations, suturing, and ventilator management while maintaining aseptic technique.
- Collaborate with physicians and specialists in ophthalmology, cardiology, critical care, and emergency medicine to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Document all patient interactions accurately within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Monitor patients' responses to treatments, manage acute pain or adverse reactions promptly, and adjust care plans accordingly.
- Educate patients and their families on post-treatment care, medication regimens, and health coaching strategies to promote recovery and wellness.
- Assist in developing and implementing a nursing services organizational structure.
- Assist in the development of nursing policies and procedures which meet the current standards of nursing practice, comply with state and federal regulations, reflect facility philosophy and support operational objectives.
- Participate in the development, maintenance and implementation of the facility’s quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI) program for the nursing services department.
Skills
- Extensive experience with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner for accurate medical documentation.
- Proficiency in performing injections including Botox (Botulinum toxin), medication administration via IV infusion, and venipuncture techniques.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and diagnostic evaluation methods relevant to treatment procedures.
- Skilled in managing acute care situations across various settings including hospital medicine, emergency room environments, ICU/CCU units, and outpatient clinics.
- Familiarity with specialized fields such as ophthalmology, cardiology (including catheterization), infectious disease care, hospice & palliative medicine, geriatrics, behavioral health, trauma medicine (Level I & II trauma centers), neonatal intensive care (NICU), pediatric care, and long-term care environments like nursing homes or assisted living facilities.
- Ability to perform complex procedures such as suturing, tube feeding management, ostomy care, sterile processing techniques, and laboratory specimen collection/processing.
- Knowledge of Workers' Compensation law related to occupational health cases and experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia care needs.
- Demonstrated competence in critical thinking for triage assessments during urgent or emergent situations; capable of working under pressure in fast-paced settings such as urgent care or ambulatory surgery centers.
