Visscher Construction & Restoration is a growing, family-owned construction company located in West Michigan. We focus on Residential building as well as some Commercial work, including: new builds, additions, exteriors, and insurance mitigation & restoration.
Job Overview
The Drywaller is an individual with great hand dexterity, physical stamina, and a sharp eye for detail. The ideal candidate is a master of hanging, taping, and finishing, but is also a versatile "Swiss Army Knife" on the job site. While drywall is your specialty, you are eager and able to pivot into general carpentry and construction tasks as project needs evolve.
You must be able to work with minimal supervision while maintaining high-quality finishes and following all health and safety standards. The right candidate will have a strong work ethic, show up on time, wear proper clothing, and possess their own hand tools.
Team Member Screening - At Visscher Construction, we take pride in bringing dignity back to the trades, with our Heads Held High (a core value we call "The 3 H's"). As part of that goal, we require rigorous screening on all applicants before making a final job offer. This includes passing the following screenings:
- Motor vehicle report (we require proof of a valid driver’s license and will review past driving records)
- Candidate must also have reliable transportation to and from work
- County/State/National criminal background check
- Credit report screening
- Substance-abuse screening
Role-Specific Requirements (Carpenter)
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in professional drywall hanging, taping, and finishing (including various textures and level 5 finishes).
- Experience in remodeling, framing, or general carpentry. You should be comfortable jumping in to help with a frame-up or trim work when the drywalling is done.
- Expert ability to read a tape measure and proficiency with all relevant power tools (drywall guns, routers, circular saws, etc.).
- Deep understanding of construction standards and the ability to implement them to ensure long-lasting results.

Location: Ludington, MI and surrounding area
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm (actual hours will vary by season or projects).
Compensation: Starting wages at $22 - $32 per hour plus overtime
