Hospice Chaplain
Our organization is seeking a professional Hospice Chaplain to join the interdisciplinary team that provides spiritual support and counseling to Hospice patients and their families, and networks within the community to educate and develop support for Hospice.
Demonstrating and exemplifying a calm, compassionate, and empathetic demeanor that cares for the patient and their family throughout their end-of-life journey is what we seek in a Hospice Chaplain.

Some of what you will be doing…
- Demonstrates the sensitivity, skill, and knowledge in counseling patients/ families regarding spiritual issues.
- Demonstrates the skill to assess the patient/family in identifying social, emotional, and spiritual needs/issues and develop an appropriate intervention plan.
- Demonstrates knowledge and works in accordance with the policies and procedures of Hospice Atlanta.
- Attends weekly interdisciplinary team meetings and shares appropriate patient information.
- Completes initial assessment on patient and family within seven days of admission to the home care program or residential center.
- Partners with the Bereavement Coordinator to follow survivors in bereavement if unresolved spiritual issues interfere with the grief process
- Coordinates planning and execution of bi-annual memorial service.
- Demonstrates ability to integrate information and make sound clinical decisions with thorough follow-through.
- Acts as a liaison between the agency and community and advocates for need of patient/family when necessary (i.e., linking with community resources, recruitment of volunteers to assist with spiritual support.)
- Establishes referral sources for Hospice patients/families and educates these individuals/groups on Hospice philosophy and care.
We need you to have...
- Master of Divinity from an accredited Theological School
- Board Certified Chaplain
- One (1) Year of Clinical Pastoral Education
- Hospice experience is preferred
- Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and current vehicle insurance.
