Position Overview
The Hospice Volunteer Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting hospice operations and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, including CMS volunteer requirements. This role provides onsite supervision of volunteers, oversees recruitment and onboarding, and ensures the hospice program consistently meets the required 5% volunteer service threshold. The Coordinator also collaborates with interdisciplinary teams and represents the organization during regulatory surveys.

In compliance with New Jersey's Pay Transparency Act, the compensation range for this position is USD $20.00 to USD $28.00. What You’ll Do
- Supervise and support office-based hospice volunteers performing administrative projects, outreach calls, and bereavement support.
- Conduct introductory and supervisory visits with hospice patients to assess volunteer needs and engagement opportunities.
- Recruit, train, onboard, and retain a dynamic volunteer workforce in compliance with CMS requirements.
- Participate in Interdisciplinary Group (IDG) meetings to contribute to patient care planning and identify volunteer support needs.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure regulatory readiness for CHAP, DOH, and other surveys.
- Provide ongoing coaching, guidance, and performance feedback to volunteers.
- Promote volunteer engagement initiatives that support quality patient and family experiences.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
