Visitation Home is a private 501(c)3 organization that provides housing and day programming for adults with developmental disabilities. Visitation Home is seeking experienced, kind, and compassionate caregivers to assist adults with disabilities with activities of daily living and overnight monitoring and assistance in our home. Overnights (9pm-9am) are available as well as afternoon (3pm-9pm) and weekend shifts.
This is a part time position, up to 24 hours a week available. Semi-flexible scheduling available. We strive to coordinate with staff a schedule that works for both you and VH, but staff must also be flexible in adjustments. Some weekend work (at least 2 weekend shifts a month) is required, unless hired specifically for overnights only.
Individuals must be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalent. Caregiving experience, especially with IDD/DD population and/or elderly/dementia strongly preferred. Clean driving record (less than 5 points) is required for daytime shifts.
Individuals should posses the following qualities:
- Ability to communicate with and provide direct assistance to participants including personal hygiene care
- Excellent verbal communication and listening skills, as well as writing skills
- Conflict resolutions skills
- Must be self-motivated and have the ability to motivate others
- Ability to collaborate with others and work with a team
- Ability to maintain objectivity and confidentiality
- Reliable
There is a possibility for an exceptional individual to be hired for a live-in position.
