What are the responsibilities and job description for the Destination Sales Coordinator position at Visit Portland?
Help Bring Meetings, Conferences, Sporting Events & Destination Weddings to Greater Portland
Do you enjoy building relationships, working with people, staying organized, and showcasing places you love?
At Visit Portland, we're more than a tourism organization. We're the Destination Marketing Organization (DMO) for Greater Portland, Maine. Our mission is to strengthen our local economy by attracting visitors, meetings, conferences, sporting events, destination weddings, and group travel that support hundreds of local businesses throughout our community.
Every meeting booked, conference hosted, tournament won, and wedding celebrated creates business for our hotels, restaurants, attractions, transportation providers, retailers, and countless small businesses. The work we do has a direct impact on Greater Portland's economy.
As our Destination Sales Coordinator, you'll be on the front lines of those efforts.
You'll work directly with meeting planners, event organizers, sports planners, and wedding professionals from across the country, helping them discover why Greater Portland is the perfect place to host their event. From the first inquiry through site visits and event planning, you'll help create an exceptional experience while connecting planners with our outstanding local hospitality community.
This is more than an administrative position. It's part sales support, part marketing, part relationship building, and part destination ambassador.
No two days are alike.
One day you may be conducting a site visit with a meeting planner, touring hotels and venues throughout Portland. The next you may be preparing proposals, assisting with a marketing campaign, attending a networking event, or traveling to a tradeshow to promote Greater Portland to national event planners.
If you enjoy variety, working with people, and making a meaningful impact on your community, this could be the perfect opportunity.
