Position Summary
The Marketing & Social Media Manager is responsible for developing and executing content creation and strategic marketing initiatives that elevate the Visit Lebanon Valley brand, increase visitation, and drive engagement across digital platforms. This role leads content development, strategy, social media management, digital advertising, and campaign execution while collaborating with community partners and stakeholders.
This is a dynamic, creative, and data-driven role ideal for a marketing professional who is passionate about storytelling, tourism promotion, and community impact.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing Strategy & Campaign Management
- Develop and implement integrated marketing campaigns to promote tourism, events, and partner businesses
- Support brand positioning and ensure consistent messaging across all platforms
- Coordinate seasonal campaigns, travel promotions, and cooperative marketing efforts
- Manage website content, including planning, message optimization, accuracy, compliance, and best practices
- Manage marketing budgets and track ROI on campaigns
Social Media Management
- Create and execute a comprehensive social media strategy across platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, etc.)
- Develop engaging content, including reels, short-form videos, photography, blogs, and user-generated content campaigns to grow the follower base
- Monitor trends and leverage timely content opportunities
- Manage community engagement, comments, and direct messages
- Track performance metrics and optimize content based on analytics
- Stay current on best practices related to destination marketing and social media platform changes
Content Creation & Digital Marketing
- Develop the content calendar and ensure alignment with strategic priorities and branding
- Write compelling content for social media, email marketing, blogs, and website updates
- Develop and curate photography and videography assets highlighting local attractions and experiences
- Manage email marketing campaigns and audience segmentation
- Collaborate on website content updates and SEO optimization
Partnership & Community Collaboration
- Work closely with local tourism partners, businesses, event organizers, and community leaders
- Identify opportunities for influencer collaborations and monitor performance metrics
- Represent Visit Lebanon Valley at community events and industry functions
Reporting & Analytics
- Analyze digital marketing and social media performance data. Identify KPIs and monitor performance for continuous improvement
- Prepare monthly performance reports with insights and recommendations
- Use analytics tools to guide content decisions and marketing strategies
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or related field
- 3 years of prior experience in marketing and social media management
- Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills
- Proficiency in social media platforms and analytics tools
- Experience with digital advertising (Meta, Google Ads, etc.)
- Basic graphic design skills (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar)
- Skilled in Microsoft Office applications
- Proficiency with basic photo and video editing software (Canva, Adobe Suite, iMovie or similar)
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects
- Must have a valid Driver’s License
Preferred:
- Experience in tourism, destination marketing, hospitality, or community development
- Photography and/or videography skills
- Knowledge of SEO and WordPress
- Familiarity with the Lebanon Valley region
