Organization Summary:
Visit Fort Wayne is Allen County’s official destination marketing organization. We promote Fort Wayne as a destination for leisure, group, convention, and sports travel.
Job Summary:
Creating, managing, and disseminating marketing and communications content through web, print, and other media in efforts to attract more visitors to Fort Wayne/Allen County. Responsible for email marketing, blog content, and project management as part of a six-person marketing team.
Ideal candidates will be strong writers, as well as process-oriented, organized, and good at handling a variety of tasks and responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
— Content Creation
- Write content for e-newsletters, blog, website, and other marketing efforts.
- Assist with the execution of marketing efforts, promotions, and campaigns.
— Email Marketing
- Write, edit, and produce numerous e-newsletters and professional communications in a timely and coordinated manner – in conjunction with our Marketing Team.
— Marketing Coordination
- Assist with varied marketing efforts – helping design, create and implement messaging and materials needed. General marketing support to a variety of projects and efforts across the organization.
- Assist with the writing and production of visitor publications.
- Manage the promotion of our CurrentFortWayne.com community Calendar of Events via e-newsletters and other community promotions.
- Assist with management of digital passes (creation, prize redemption, and updates.)
- Assist the Visitors Center with their marketing needs.
- Manage our annual Ad Buy – working to manage our budget and advertising goals – placing TV, digital and print ads in our target markets.
- Assist with data collection and dissemination.
- Work with Visit Fort Wayne partners (restaurants, attractions, hotels, etc) to help them promote their businesses to Fort Wayne’s visitors.
- Manage print projects and collateral needs – working with vendors to place and track orders and stay on budget.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Project management skills: detail-oriented and capable of meeting simultaneous and frequent deadlines.
- Very organized, and can manage multiple projects well. Process-oriented.
- Strong work ethic with high energy and enthusiasm.
- Knowledge of convention and tourism industries is a plus.
Education & Work Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Journalism, Communications, English or related field from an academic institution.
- Experience in writing, public relations, digital marketing, or marketing preferred.
- Experience using email programs and some experience with analytical tracking preferred.

Hours:
- Monday - Friday 8 am - 5 pm
- Very minimal weekends, evenings, and holidays based on office demands.
Salary-Exempt, Full-Time Position
Salary: Commensurate with education, qualifications, and experience. Range: $45,000-$47,000
