We’re excited you’re exploring our Communications internship at Fort Wayne Metals! This internship offers a hands-on opportunity to gain experience in internal and external communications while helping strengthen our company culture and employer brand.
As a Communications intern, you’ll support a variety of initiatives, including employee engagement, community involvement, event coverage, and corporate storytelling. You’ll have the chance to create content, capture stories, design branded materials, and contribute to communications projects that showcase Fort Wayne Metals’ people, achievements, and impact.
We’re seeking students pursuing degrees in Communications, Marketing, Event Management, or related fields who are eager to develop practical skills in corporate communications and engagement.
Relationship-building and collaboration are central to this role. You’ll work closely with team members across departments, ensuring your projects align with company goals while giving you the opportunity to grow your skills and make a meaningful impact.
As a Wired for Success intern, you'll dive into dynamic, project-based work. If selected, you’ll be matched with a team and project that aligns with your unique skills and interests. Education & Experience Requirements
- Must be enrolled in college or university
- Previous internship experience is preferred
- Must be pursuing a degree in a related field
Job Responsibilities
- Work 40 hours a week
- Working with the assigned mentor and team to complete your project
- Will vary based on project details
Skills Needed
- Ability to work independently
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Strong attention to detail
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
- Must be able to access all areas of operation, including second floors
- Sitting/standing for long periods of time
