What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dietary Manager position at Visions Senior Living at Apache Junction?
Visions Senior Living at Apache Junction is looking for a fun, hard working, motivated individual to be our new dietary director.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare/cook/serve meals to residents and staff on a daily basis
- Use facility's designated menu vendor (Grove Menus) and print weekly menu
- Manage the kitchen and kitchen staff
- Maintain a five week rotating menu that changes with the seasons
- Utilize different foods that meet the daily nutritional requirements
- Order food and supplies while sticking within the designated budget for the building
Requirements:
- Have an understanding of dementia and how it affects their well being
- Be familiar with Grove Menu
- Know how to successfully prepare and serve food for individuals with dementia or physical disabilities
- Able to manage and stick within a budget
- Maintain a special diet board so that staff is aware of allergies, special diets, and diabetes
- Communicate effectively with staff, coworkers, and home office personnel
- Would be responsible for hiring, disciplinary action, terminating and monitoring staff performance, and most importantly, keeping staff motivated and feeling like part of the team
- Would be required to participate in daily/monthly meetings about building/staff/special events
Arizona Food Handler's Card/ ServSafe Certification, fingerprint clearance card, and TB test are required upon hire.

Experience:
- Kitchen: 3 years (Preferred)
- Kitchen management: 3 years (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- Food Handler Certification (Required)
